Haute Couture literally means high fashion (the extended meaning). But the true meaning of couture in French is “you can’t sit with us” because they are too high end to be not owned by just anyone. So, basically whatever is beyond your bank balance’s reach is Haute Couture.
Prêt-à-Porter:
Prêt-à-Porter literally translated from French means ready-to-wear. Prêt is basically a charity program of Haute Couture brands to present a “cheaper” (what a joke) collection to those who can’t afford the latter. So, in a very easy language, if Haute Couture is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan then Prêt is her charity programme, Abhishek Bachchan.
Covert Couture:
Covert Couture is again high end fashion apparels which are crafted only to burn multiple holes in your pocket and which look like something brought from flea market. The covert couture is basically for those smug creatures with poor taste in fashion to satisfy their senseless obsession with brands only and only to show off.
Street Style:
Street Style, as the name goes, is the style of fashion that you see every day on streets. But basically, street style is done by those self proclaimed fashionistas wearing absurd, copied, out of the world, overly priced brands and snapping pictures from iPhones and posting it on Instagram with irrelevant glamour quotes.
